Web Developer – Public Sites

IG Group is seeking a seasoned Front End Web Developer with an excellent track record of delivering high quality websites using Content Management Systems, with particular preference given to those with experience of using the Adobe/Day CQ5 (Communiqué) platform.

The team has responsibility for implementing designs from our Marketing and UX teams to a very high standard using the latest web development techniques. As such, a demonstrable knowledge of CSS3, HTML5 and a Javascript framework such as jQuery would be required, as is a genuine enthusiasm for exploring innovative techniques.

Your role within the team will be to actively participate in building out new sites and all aspects of CQ5 integration and using a bespoke in-house CMS to maintain existing sites. You will ideally have had exposure to Agile with Scrum development and be keen to follow best development practices and suggest areas for improvement.

Job responsibilities

  • Templating sites for Day CQ5 (CSS, Javascript, HTML)
  • Writing custom components in Java/JSP for Day CQ5
  • Managing CQ5 sites
  • Active participation in team planning sessions and retrospectives
  • Continuing maintenance of and migration from previous in-house Content Management System

Essential criteria

  • At least four years in a similar role using hand-coding pixel-perfect CSS and HTML with experience of advanced web techniques, layouts and design
  • Use of Day CQ5 or similar to deliver medium to large size web sites
  • Knowledge of Javascript/jQuery, developing maintainable javascript code-base
  • Have implemented scalable applications with the technologies detailed in the skills section
  • Exposure to other Content Management Systems a plus
  • Day CQ5 experience/other similar portal technology
